Jill, Alex and Richard met whilst members of a theatre company in Sheffield. Richard had been a DJ for over 10 years and believed live music added something special at a party. So Gemolade was formed in 1999 as a function group to provide a varied selection of music that would suit nearly all audiences, whatever the age, location or function. Basically singing something for everyone!

Their first gig was at a WMC in Killamarsh in front of a crowd of 70. After a few Birthday celebrations and Charity events, the group went on to perform  at a summer's ball at the Sheffield Cutler's Hall for over 300 guests.

After a short spell in London Richard & Jill got hitched and moved back to Sheffield, where Danny, Clare and Kate joined the group in 2003.  With more singers and a greater repertoire the group performed at gigs, sometimes with three singers, four, and when required, all out on mass.

Available for bookings, they continue to fulfil their aim of providing a great mix of music for Weddings and other functions all over the country.
